Families Helping Families Ministries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with 3 ministry areas.

Families Helping Families started as a food pantry in Stockbridge, GA in 2013. We operated out of a Sunday School room of Eastside Baptist Church. We only opened when food became available. Mostly it was drinks, dairy and produce. In 2015 we started receiving food from Operation Blessing and Midwest Food Bank every month. This allowed us to open the pantry weekly and help more people in need. We also moved into our new doublewide trailer to operate the ministry out of.

Families Helping Families is a ministry not just to give out food, but to take care of the spiritual needs of the community. We give everyone the opportunity to pray with someone, though it is not forced or required. Many times our clients tell us they come back over and over for prayer, not just for the food.

Through the years, we continued to grow to meet the increasing needs in the community for food. When we purchased our first box truck to pick up donations with, we really didn’t know what we were going to pick up with it. But once we had it, God faithfully filled it over and over and over. So much so, that we started to reach out to other food pantries in the local area to share out of our abundance. This started our partner ministry program.

When the COVID-19 pandemic started, we continued serving the community, but only on 1 day a week. Everyone stayed in their car while we loaded groceries in their trunks. This is not our preferred method of operation, but allowed us and our clients separation to slow the spread of the virus.

In 2022, we became Families Helping Families Ministries, Inc. We were our own non-profit 501(c)(3) and started operating under this new name. With that comes 2 distinct ministry areas we operate as. The Food Pantry is now known as Families Helping Families Food Pantry. Our partner ministries now fall under the Families Helping Families Food Bank ministry.

At the end of January 2023, we had to make the tough decision to close the food pantry at our current location and look for a new location to reopen. We are still helping our partner ministries receive food during this time, whether it is picking food up for them and delivering it to them, or arranging transportation so they can continue to serve the communities they are in. We still want to serve people, even if it looks different today. We know God is in control and when He is ready, He will provide a new location for us to reopen.

Also in 2023, we added the Love Ministry Garden as a new ministry of Families Helping Families Ministries, Inc. This ministry grows fruits and vegetables to donate to local food pantries. It is also a teaching and discipleship ministry with an area dedicated to veterans.
